“American-style iced tea is the perfect drink for a hot, sunny day. It’s never really caught on in the UK, probably because the last time we had a hot, sunny day was back in 1957.” – Tom Holt
Growing up in the South perfected my sweet tea tooth. I remember afternoons at my BFF Aimee’s house drinking pitchers of sweet tea from her mom’s special recipe. It was so refreshing. So sweet. So Southern.
This month, in honor of our Memorial Day BBQ, I made a pitcher of [not-so-sweet] Sweet Tea using black tea and agave.
It’s a very simple recipe that took me back to hot summer days in the Florida sun.
You’ll Need:
- A glass pitcher
- 3 black tea bags per 40oz of water (5 cups)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of Agave Nectar
Instructions:
- Boil hot water
- Place tea bags in pitcher, cover with hot water
- Add Agave Nectar
- Cool in refrigerator overnight
Enjoy!
