Confession

Friends, I have a confession.

The Seattle Marathon was yesterday and I didn’t walk the Marathon.

Instead, I ran the Half. My fourth Half Marathon!

I know I had big intentions to walk/run the Full. But when it came down to it, my school schedule didn’t allow me to adhere to my training schedule as closely as I had hoped, and I just didn’t feel ready.

Matt DID run the Full…his very first Full Marathon and I couldn’t prouder.

I definitely hurt today, but I feel great about my finish and proud despite not meeting my original goal.

Maybe a Marathon is in my future, for now, I’m grateful for the chance to have participated in the race and especially to see how the City of Seattle came together to support every single runner and walker. From the University of Washington and Bastyr University to individuals who set up water and fruit stands along the course and the hundreds of volunteers who cheered us on every step of the way. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!!!

And perhaps, one day Matt and I will return to Seattle to run this race again.

I love you, Seattle!

Bright and Early, ready for the race!
